Impersonator claims to be with TFD
The Tulsa Fire Department is warning the public of an impersonator.
Someone is calling people claiming to be with the fire department and that they will inspect homes to ensure there are no fire hazards with dryer vents, according to TFD.
Officials with Tulsa Fire say they are not providing this service and will never ask to enter a home without being in uniform and showing proper identification.
TFD says it will respond to the needs of citizens upon request, but does not initiate service calls.
Authorities say if you receive this kind of call, just hang up the phone.
If a person shows up at your home claiming to be a Tulsa firefighter or affiliated with the Tulsa Fire Department without a uniform and proper identification, do not let the person enter your home and call 918-596-9222.
