D'Backs recall Roberts, disable Abreu

The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled
infielder Ryan Roberts from Triple-A Reno to fill the roster spot of Tony
Abreu, who hit the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
The 29-year-old Roberts set career highs in every offensive category over 110
games for Arizona last season. He hit .279 with 41 runs scored, 17 doubles,
two triples, seven homers and 25 runs batted in.

In 43 games for Reno in 2010, Roberts is batting .275 with 27 runs scored, 13
doubles, three homers and 26 RBI.

Abreu, 25, sprained his left wrist on a tag play at second base in Sunday's
12-4 loss to Toronto. He was hitting .313 with six doubles and five RBI in 30
games this season.
